Krakow Airport with international code KRK is conveniently located in the village of Balice that is on the outskirts of the city. It is only 11 kilometers from the central business district of southern Poland. After Warsaw airport, Krakow is the second busiest airport. It has two separate terminals. Terminal one (T1) that is set aside for international operations and terminal 2 (T2) for domestic flights. There is a cargo terminal too that has a 755 meters square warehouse.

The international terminal is divided into two segments. One handles Schengen flights and the other segment is for the Non-Schengen flights. Gates 6, 7, and 8 are used for the European Union Schengen travelers and gates 1 to 4 are for those from and to destinations beyond the Schengen zone.

The trolleys are perfectly placed for arriving and departing passengers too. You can find eateries on the mezzanine floor and the first aid section in the public areas of the terminals. Transport between the city and Krakow Airport

We have various means of transport from and to Krakow Airport, where you can use taxi, buses and shuttles, and those in need of extra comfort can hire a rental car. Shuttle trains were suspended to pave way for the upgrade of the railway line, and their services will hopefully resume on august 2015.

For a 15 minutes drive from Krakow Airport to the city center, you can rent-a-car and drive yourself to the hotel, or take a taxi and do the booking from the numerous car rental companies in the city. Taxis are also efficient but if you depend on them to take you to all the attraction sites, you will have to be ready to part with a lot of money. This is because they charge per trip unlike the car hire services that ask for a one-off charge for the use of the hired car for the duration you will stay in Krakow.
